1: A house where one goes to avoid trouble with the law.

  * e.g.,  ... Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safe house or a relative close by, lay low for awhile because you're probobly wanted for murder.

1: A public restroom used in bathroom emergencies. Or a clean well taken care of public bathroom used when someone can’t make it home.

  * e.g.,  ... Ask Bob, he has IBS, he knows where all the best safe houses are. 

 [ "safe as houses" ]

1: A British term refering to the safety in investing by buying houses.

  * e.g.,  ... Although that bridge looks rickety is really as safe as houses.

1: A term from 19th Century Britain that uses a simile that is rather defunct. It stem from a time when houses were padlocked down and hidden in underground nuclear bunkers, along with whoever was in there, and burglary was less common than finding the bank of England without security guards... or so many old people would have you believe. Just use sarcasm to shut them the fuck up.
